Turkish Coffee

Turkish Coffee; It was the Turks who introduced Coffee into the western world. Coffee is not grown in Turkey. Turks roast and finely grind it. They buy coffee in small amounts so that it is always fresh. Coffee is made with cold water, in a pot, which is called as cezve, on low heat. The idea is to serve it with foam all over the surface when it is poured into the small coffee cup. You cannot add sugar after it is made. The sugar should be added while stirring it in the cezve. Turkish coffee is not filtered, it is served with coffee grounds in it.

A famous Turkish expression goes: “A cup of coffee guarantees forty years of friendship”.
