The Süleymaniye Mosque, more than a mosque, is an important historical symbol for the Turks. It unites Architect Sinan with Süleyman, one representing the best of the arts and the other most power- ful of political strength.
The Süleymaniye Mosque was built between 1550-1557.
The famous Blue Mosque was built by one of Sinan’s apprentices 60 years after the Süleymaniye.
